Sherman has been featured in World Literature today in conjunction with being the recipient of the Native Writers’ Circle of the Americas 2010 Lifetime Achievement Award.
A new interview with Sherman Alexie headlines the July 2010 issue of World Literature Today, in which he talks about the pragmatics of Indian politics, the commercialization of art, engagement with his critics, Sarah Palin, and much more with characteristic humor, acumen, and abandon. Additional highlights include new verse by Syrian poet Adonis, short stories by Bernard Quiriny and Jorge Amado, an essay on soccer’s “last defender” (the goalkeeper), and an interview with Lorna Dee Cervantes.

- Hanging Loose is one of the oldest independent literary publishers in the U.S. The editors are proud of having published many first books, including the first full collections by Sherman Alexie, Kimiko Hahn, D.
